It's Monday, again.

Another week has flown by. Is it just me or is this whole blog thing becoming "The Week in Review?" lol! Well, here's what happened this LAST week...

Monday, we had Watch Day at dance for Maura's class. This year for recital she'll have 3 costumes (insert nervous laugh here), and her class gets to perform at the Christmas concert w/ the Community Band. This bunch is a bunch of performers, for sure. Just right after dance, we skipped on over to the Soccer Awards ceremony. No one kept track of 1st, 2nd, etc. (I'm sure 1 or 2 parents did), so every kiddo got recognized along with a trophy. Crae was more concerned, at first anyway, about getting a cookie. No, make that a LOT of cookies. Crae and his teammates were also given special awards by their coaches. Each one was unique to that team member. Crae received the "I'm Already Ready Already" award. (He says "already ready already" a lot.) LOL!! Crae was blessed beyond measure to have such caring, wonderfully patient, zany coaches. Thank you SO much Doug, Martin & Robert! Crae LOVED playing under your direction. :)

We'll skip Tuesday altogether, okay? On to Wednesday... Watch Day for Grayson at dance. She, too, will have 3 costumes for recital this year. (Insert nervous laugh w/ a cringe here.) I love that she's going to have a jazz number this year. And, in spite of the fact we'll be buying 6 costumes between the girls and we still have every costume since the VERY beginning of their dance careers, I can't wait to see her in that particular dance. She LOVES jazz, and she can SHAKE it!

Ya know, Thursday isn't worth mentioning really. We were fortunate enough to make it to Friday. Crae's class at preschool had a pizza party w/ their parents because they had been studying the letter "P." Again, there were stations w/ various activities and of course, pizza.

Crae was lucky enought to get to start the party by making his dessert first. He made it himself. And yes, that's a chef's hat. Isn't he adorable?!

At another station, he got to make his very own lunch - English muffin pizzas. The kids ate these, and the parents had Pizza Hut. It was a ton of fun! Here's Crae w/ one of his classmates, Savannah. (This is one of the little girls he has been in class w/ since he was 1-yr old. This is also the little girl he told me during a trip to the mall that I needed to take him to Zales so he could get a ring for because he was going to marry her. LOL! I guess you can never start planning too early.)
So we're still at Friday, right? Spur of the moment thing... Stewart got us and some friends of ours tickets to see "High School Musical 3." When I say us, I mean the kids and I. I assured Stewart he would NOT be in trouble because HSM3 wasn't on his 'must see' list. So as soon the girls got home, we drove to Abilene, met up w/ our friends and were bedazzled by the phenomenon that is "High School Musical." At least the 3rd installment of it.

With 5 kids, it's challenging, granted, to watch a movie. But the kids had fun, and I was more than entertained. Afterwards we all headed out to eat dinner. By the time we got home, the kids were beyond pooped. Thank goodness it was Saturday approaching...

And then it was Festival time! Every year out at Highland, there is a Fall Festival. All the kids dress up, play carnival games put on by each grade (Pre-K thru 12th), and have an all-inclusive play. This year's theme was a '50's theme. I had some poodle skirts made for the girls' - Crae was Super Man this year. Grayson made sure she had some lipstick on before the play. (It's always the lipstick w/ her.)

The play was cute. And it was the last one to take place in the current 'old gym.' The Festival's been going on in that gym since '47, but construction for the new part of the school will bring that to an end. The Festival will continue to take place, but it'll have a new home at the school. Anyway, at the end of the play ALL the students got out on the floor to Jitter bug. We noticed Grayson did the leading w/ her partner (lol!), but did a great job! And Maura... that girl can cut a rug! You could tell she was loving it! They'll both definitely be doing the whole one-act play thing in high school.

Now here we are at Monday again. (sigh) The girls were out of school for the day, so Stewart took Grayson and Crae to the dentist. Maura tagged along. Happy to report NO CAVATIES!!

Which reminds me... it's bedtime. I need to go brush my teeth. :)
